Get to Know Me! Why I Started Blogging and Why I Chopped Off My Hair!

Recently I was approached to answer some interview questions, but I found that I get commonly asked some of these, so why not turn it into a blog post?! I'd love to do a second round of "facts" about me, so leave your questions in the comments and your question will be answered in the next
one!

Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I'm an beauty and fashion blogger based in Portland, OR. I have a love for Sphynx cats, the style of the 1960s, interneting, and playing with fashion &  hair!

How did you get started blogging?
I started off blogging on Live Journal in middle school, chatting on forums and posting here and there. When I was in high school I stumbled across Keiko Lynn's blog and fell down the rabbit hole, and I've been reading blogs ever since. It wasn't until I was 21 that I started my own blog. Because typically when you like something enough, you give it a try yourself!

Why does beauty appeal to you as a subject? Is there a reason you chose to focus on it?
Makeup and hair has been a hobby of mine since I was a freshman in high school. It's when I first started coloring my hair and practicing winged eyeliner! I think I like beauty so much because I've loved illustration and crafting since I was a kid and the artistic aspect of hair styling, makeup, and fashion is similar to that in my mind.

The pixie is your signature. How did you end up with it, and why?
When I was fifteen I spontaneously chopped it off into a bob. Over the next year it just kept getting shorter and shorter! Since then I haven't had anything longer than a chin-length bob. I love that it's a timeless haircut that has a ton of variety! Plus it's chic as hell and I always feel put-together (even in sweatpants & a t shirt)!

What are you favorite hair products?
Hair Story New Wash has completely transformed my hair! (You can read more about it here)
When it comes to styling products it changes every once in awhile, but here are the products that come to mind:

Do you have advice for up-and-coming influencers or aspiring bloggers?
Don't expect instant results. It takes a lot of hard work, consistency, and time. And do your research on how to effectively market your social media and/or blog. With so much competition online you have to have a game plan. Most of all you need to be one-hundred percent yourself & have fun! If you don't have fun or you're not passionate, you're going to burn-out.
